Volunteer Application

Thank you for your interest in serving as a Volunteer. This opportunity will close on January 19, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Please review the required information below.

Volunteers must be registered attendees of the 2024 TCEA Convention & Exposition. Volunteers who sign up for two or more 4.5-hour blocks will receive a complimentary Full Convention Registration. As a volunteer, you will serve as a concurrent session facilitator, acting as a liaison between TCEA staff and presenters. Limited opportunities are available and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Assist with scanning attendees into sessions in your assigned room.
  • Monitor room capacity and closing the room if it reaches capacity.
  • Call for support if needed.
  • Provide speakers with a 5-minute warning before each session ends.
  • Clear the presentation room at the end of each session.
Once the session begins, you will have a reserved seat in the back of the room. This means you can continue learning and earning CPE credits for the sessions held in your assigned room!
 
Volunteer Expectations
As an extension of the TCEA team, we are relying on you. To make this program work, you must commit to the following:
  • Check into the Volunteer Booth onsite at least two hours before your scheduled shift. For early morning shifts, you will be expected to check-in the day before.
  • Attend a 15-minute training session to learn the equipment required for your duties.
  • Volunteer throughout the entire duration of your assignment. There will be opportunities for two 10-minute breaks during each 4.5-hour shift.
  • Remain in the presentation room you are scanning for, ensuring a smooth session in case of AV/IT needs.
  • Help provide an exceptional experience for all presenters and attendees.
All Volunteers must be reviewed and approved. No-shows for Volunteers who receive a complimentary registration and do not fulfill their commitment will be responsible for the full registration fees.
